Also jointly called "jinjiang rivers", the the Fu and Nan Rivers originate from the Minjiang River, a branch of the Dujiangyan Irrigation System and the Yangtze River, and run through the city center of Chengdu.           More than 50 years ago, every time when Granny went to the Dananhai to worship Buddha in summer, I came to the Xinnanmen to see the enchanting sights of the Fu-Nan Rivers. The boats with visitors were coming and going on the waters. The tea shops scattering in the bamboo trees on the banks were full of people talking and drinking tea here. The young people were happily swimming in the rivers. What a beautiful and unforgettable scene that has been lingering on my mind!
